Hello Ladies-
I am desperately trying to organize from my shower and trying to get the nursery put together. I was blessed to recieve so many wonderful gifts but I need to know how many is TOO many??
Example: I got over 40 bibs! Since I have gift reciepts for some, I need to return those and save my store credits. But I have no clue how many to keep? Any advice?
Also in this same situtation are hooded towels, washcloths, blankets, and burp cloths! I just have no idea how many of each item is good to have on hand. I mean, how many washcloths does one baby need?
From those if you that are already living it, any help would be appreciated! THANKS!
Denise
PS- Can't figure out my ticker thing so I am 33 weeks & 5 days :-) Due June 7th.
Re: gift overload? ??'s on how MANY do you need?
I would keep all receiving blankets and burp cloths you get, we use those like crazy!
As far as bibs, hooded towels and wash cloths thats up to you....I like bibs because DS is a messy eater and it cuts down on the clothes changing, but 40 seems a bit obscene.?
Wow 40 bibs is alot. I have about 15 and don't even use them so i would return some of those
I have about 20 wash clothes, 5 hooded towels and tons of blankets. I think i have about 10 burb clothes also. But that being said my little guy hardly ever spits up so one burb clothe will last all day for me.
As for bibs you figure at least one a day.. sometimes two if you have a drooly baby.. it also depends on the kind of bibs.. are they good thick bibs those are the best for drool.. then you will need some when they start to eat so there really isn't an answer for how many but no need for 40
I believe for the hooded towel i have like 4 and washcloths i have like 8 .. Blankets you really don't need that many.. i only really use 3 of them.. Burp cloths LOTS
i guess it depends on how much you are going to do laundry as if your baby spits up you will use a burp cloth and more than likely you won't want to use that again cause it will really smell so you want to keep enough so you don't run out before you do laundry..

I'd keep about 14 bibs, all of the washcloths and burp cloths and at least 6 blankets. I spread my stuff around to packages I left at both my parent's home and cottage and my inlaw's place as well as some stuff at work. That way I am not dragging stuff around every place I go
You'll be doing a lot of laundry, so you don't actually need as many of anything as you might think. When my first son was born I was stunned to find I was doing a load a day.
Laundry is the dirty little secret of parenthood.
I would hold off, you never know what kind of baby you will have.
I almost NEVER use a burp cloth and if I do, it's not for burping. She isn't a wet burper. She also never drooled until the past couple of weeks and that is because she is beginning teething. Even so, we hardly ever put a bib on her.
We have 4 hooded towels and never want for more. We have a ton of baby washcloths, but we don't mind ebcause we cloth diaper and use the extras for cloth wipes. But really, it's nice to have like 6-8 baby washcloths exclusively for bathing.
On the other hand, I apprecieate every single blanket that we have. We use them to tuck around her in the carseat, to cover her when she is napping downstairs, for tummy time on the floor, when we go visit people to put on the floor so she can play, to bundle her up when in the swing or something when napping or if we take it outside on a nice day, etc. The knitted/crocheted ones get less use right now but I know they will be used more as she gets older.
Look at C, that will be yours in 2 years! I was dues June 6 and had her on the 1st.
I used everything we had including towels, wash cloths and especially all the bibs and blankets we got.
