~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation.
Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation).
~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
pcos, metformin and clomid

Been trying for over a year on our own with no luck. Was referred to a repo-fertility endocrinologist for my PCOS. I started on 500mg metformin and then with this cycle I will start with 50mg clomid. I am taking my prenatal vitamins, folic acid and supplmental DHA. Any advice. Has anyone gotten pregnant on first go round? Just want a little support/wishful thinking

The board is really dead right now, but I know there are a few ladies on here that are going through this right now!

You might try posting this on the 1st tri board. Most of us here are not PG.
I too have been diagnosed with PCOS. My recomendations so far, are eat something when you take the Metformin. Otherwise your tummy revolt....
I also try to follow a low carb low sugar diet and I also take Vitex every day.

I was on my 2nd cycle of 50mg clomid and my first with the 500mg extended release metformin tabs because of my PCOS. 1st try with that combo and I got my BFP.
The 1st cycle with clomid for me went to 90 days with no O. The cycle with the met and the clomid I O'd on cd17or so.
I know there are other girls that it has not worked for, but so far so good for me. GL!!
You're going through the exact cyle that my and my husband did. Although I was diagnosed with PCOS a year before TTC and was put on Metformin at that time also. Once we were ready to TTC, we tried "naturally" for a year with no success. My doctor then put me on 50 mg of Clomid, monitored me, gave me an Ovidrel trigger shot right when my follie (notice it's not plural, I only had one follicle but it at least measure at 27 mm) was a good size and told us when to have sex. To cover our bases, we had sex 2 days before that, that same day, and the day after. I was 99% sure that I wasn't pregnant. Our first cycle working just seemed too good to be true. Well I tested on 13 dpo and 'Pregnant' popped up.
