Crap DH is working overtime again..Vent!

Every two months or so a project comes up that DH has to work overtime on. Of couse he does not get paid to work overtime so it is just a PITA. Oh and FWIW they consider anything over a 40 hour week overtime at his office. He was suposed to be home at noon today after a 50 hour work week. Of course he is not home yet and I doubt he will be before the kids are in bed.  It looks like all next week will be the same. It just makes for really long days and weeks with a 2.5 year old and a 5 months old. Okay vent over.

  • I feel your pain. DH is salaried and does not get paid for overtime. His typical week involves 50-60 hours during M-F plus several times per month where he is on call and has to work an additional 12-15 hours on the weekends (often in the middle of the night). I wish he got paid more for that- we'd be rich!!! But honestly, I'm just thankful that he has a good job in an econemy like the one we're in.

  • EM you are right I should just be happy he does have a job, guess I am just a little overwhelmed today.
  • i am sad dh has to work all weekend :( but he is getting paid for the ot.  no ot pay would be too painful for Sat and Sunday work.  and i am sad but thankful too in this economy.

Welcome to my life! The only difference is, I have to be accessible 24/7 (even on vacation). The only time I remember being 'free' was when I was in the hospital delivering and the first two following weeks.
