Where did you buy your crib?

I was hoping for some local girls to help me out?  Where did you get your crib, and do you like it?

My husband and I are leaning towards solid wood furniture, so any recommendations in that direction would help.

Thanks.

Re: Where did you buy your crib?

  • Hi Gracie!

Not sure what part of mass you live in but there's the Baby Furniture Warehouse.  I went to the one in Reading.  My only advice is go soon because it take 10 to 12 weeks depending on which furniture set you order.  I got a Munire set-Urban  in cherry.  I love it!  it arrives at the end of june which will give me 7-8 weeks to get organized =)  I checked out Jordans furniture but found it to be a bit more expensive.  The warehouse was willing to give you discounts if you bought a set and i think were more willing to "negotiate".  Plus there were TONS to choose from!

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for the response.

I live in Southern MA near RI, but I don't mind driving for a good deal.

  • We bought ours at baby depot at any Burlington Coat Factory in Shrewsbury, Auburn or Woonsocket, RI. its by Simmons. Here is a link to them.

  • I also did Baby FUrniture Warehouse (Braintree).  We looked at Jordan's but they do not do crib set up so that was a deal breaker for us.
  • We bought ours at Jordans Furniture.  It was a bit more expensive than everywhere else we looked, but well worth the money (million dollar baby collection).  The furniture is quality!  As somone mentioned they do not set up the crib for liability purposes, however my husband put this together by hiimself in about 1/2 hour - he said it was very easy to assemble!  Good luck.
  • We also got ours at baby furniture wearhouse in braintree. ?We went this wekeend in fact. ?We got the Romina Karisma - it has a drop down side, which I need because I am so short!

  • the baby boudoir in New Bedford MA, its a little bit of a ride but totally worth it.  They have a great selection of solid wood crib sets and other things like high chairs etc.  and its all reasonably priced and the staff is so helpful.  Here is the website---they even have a bargain outlet down the street for their discountinued designs.  I give this place two thumbs up!!!

  • I went to baby furniture warehouse - I believe this one was in braintree.  They have multiple brands and various price ranges.  They are truthful about what is good and what isn't - how do I know?  We were looking between a couple cribs (two different brands) and he told us that the cheaper one was better quality - type of wood and where manufactured.  They are very nice, give nice deals and are rated well in Baby Bargains. (great book - rates all kinds of baby items for safety, ease of use etc)

I just went back to the Baby Furniture Warehouse (in Reading).  We decided on which crib we are getting and we put it on a registry.  The one that we found is back ordered and will take 10-14 weeks to come in.  We searched everywhere and found that they had the best selection and the most reasonable prices. We have the same due date!!!!  Are you finding out what you are having?  We find out on Thursday!!!!!
