I am a big loser! I cut, pasted into url and picked top and then hit insert and this is what happens.

It looks like you're trying to insert the html url instead of the actual image address.

Heidi, right click on the image above (your flowers). Highlight "copy image location".

Click on the "tree" and "paste" the image location in the first open box.

Hit "insert".
