I packed a few outfits. I didn't have a specific one he just had to wear home though. I wish I had known we would need more clothes in NB since 0-3 was way too big.

I did what reynah did - something easy, comfy and warm. I don't remember what it was now though, hee. I do remember that I just wanted to go to bed but our apartment was full of people who wouldn't leave. Gah.
The one we had would have been way too warm to dress him in. The day we brought him home it was 80 degrees (2/26), so he just wore the hospital t-shirt home.
Yeah I had a new born outfit picked out but DD ended up coming 5 weeks early so my mom had to run out and buy a bunch of preemie clothes and they still swallowed her at 5lbs (her weight when she came home).
My mom bought 2 outfits- one for if the baby was a girl and one if it was a girl for him/her to come home in. It was a little more than I would have done, but my mom got so excited about it.
Baby came home in a sleeper which he was swimming in, I suggest bringing a preemie something or other just in case. My son is 6 weeks and still in newborn clothes, which I was told not to buy. Anyway, I suggest something comfy for your little one-maybe a onesie and some cotton pants or a cotton dress if you are having a girl.
I came home in workout type clothes-I brought jeans and a sweater, but I wasn't feeling it. I overpacked for both me and baby-hey you never know what you'll need.
I bought two outfits from Baby Gap, on NB and one 0-3. ?He fit the NB pretty perfectly (but he was big, 8.11). ?It was a little colored romper, pretty comfy, but cute.
I came home in maternity jeans and a comfy shirt.
However, I LOVE these outfits! ?I want to get one for the next baby.
Ainsley wore a newborn size dress home and it was HUGE. I had to go out and buy a bunch of preemie stuff the day after I got home from the hospital.
DD was 20'' and 7lbs 2oz.
Ditto (almost)! DD was 7 lb 11 oz, and her NB size dress and cardigan swallowed her. It did make for cute pictures, though! She is still too small for her NB and 0-3 mo sleepers, so she lives in little gowns around the house right now.
DS#1 came home in an Alabama polo type onesie with an Alabama hat (DH is from AL) and DS#2 came home in a baby blue polo type onesie and a blue hat. They were super cute I must say and I put there onesies and hats along with hospital pictures in a shadow box for them.
I wore maternity velour pants and t-shirt/tank top home both times.
I agree with NB being a great size! DS#2 wore NB for like 2 months or so. Carters brand also runs big (just FYI)!
Yes, both of my kids came home in the same thing. It was all white, footed pants with a kimono style snap top . Loved it, and ended up being the perfect size for both of them (T was 7lb 11oz, M was 8lbs).

Pretty much the same with DS. His NB outfit was huge on him. (two piece white and blue striped kimono style pajamas from Ralph Lauren.) He wore preemie for the first couple of weeks. 6lbs. 15oz. 19inches long at birth. (born 1 day after his due date)
Marley came home in the dress that my great-grandmother bought me to wear my first day of church. I wanted her to wear it on a special day, but my MIL had already made her baptismal gown.?
It was a 9 mo dress, so it swallowed her whole, but it was a christening gown so it looked all right. After over a week in the hospital I figured she deserved to dress up and celebrate her homecoming. ?
DS wore a baby blue winnie the pooh onesie with a matching baby blue hat. I brought a newborn onesie/hat & a 0-3 month one b/c we knew he was going to be big & I wasn't sure what size he would wear. The NB ended up fitting him perfectly (he was 8.11 lbs). I wore maternity capris & a maternity shirt home (the same thing I wore to the hospital).

They look SO comfy and cute at the same time.?

I bought a NB outfit a while back, but am still on the search for one I love even more.
Yep, but it way way too big. It was just a one-piece striped romper-type thing from the Gap.
Jenn, that is exactly what Kendall wore!
