Can someone please explain?

If a person wants to spend $900 dollars on a stroller, that is fine with me, but I honestly do not understand what makes a bugaboo so awesome. How is it different than a Graco or a Chicco?

Re: Can someone please explain?

  • i love my graco.... both of em... actually all three of em... hehe no bugaboo needed here

  • it is pretty & gwyneth paltrow has one. (or four).
  • Short answer, more luxury. Like comparing a Chrysler and a BMW.
  • It does nothing for me personally, not sure what is more luxurious about it either.
  • I think it's all about the name. If I could afford to spend $900 on one, I'd get one too.

You really would have to see one in person and compare to a Graco. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing.

  • My husband wants to know if this $900 stroller gives BJ's?  :)

I think our DHs are related. Wink
  • I?m probably going to get the bugaboo and nothing against the other ones, it's only b/c i like it and someone told me it works really well on the NYC streets..  (Easier on hills, cracked pavements.. stuff like that)

But it's also where you are in your life and what you can afford. If i didn?t have the money i'd get something else.  I think its fine to get it as long as you don?t have to skip meals 5 months just to afford it.

LMAO my DH says stuff like that all the time!

I asked a friend who has the Bugaboo if it was worth the extra money, and she doesn't even like it. She said it's too heavy.

Well, actually, yes it does.  I have had to sell my body to DH for this stroller.  LOL!  It's really a matter of opinion.  Yes, we could have gone w/ a Graco or another stroller, but DH and I really liked the Bugaboo and after trying out soo many strollers, this was the one we were happiest with.

  • We are getting the Uppa baby - similar to the Bugaboo.  We tried out a bunch at the store.  We have specific needs (I like to walk, DH is 6'7" and has extremely long legs etc.) so we found this met all our needs.  It also has a 50 pound weight limit, so no need for a second stroller as the baby grows.  I also like the bassinet attachment that comes with it.

Cool, we have the Chicco Cortina, and we absolutely love it, and we definitely preferred it over the Graco's, but we never looked at anything higher end since the Chicco was at the top of our price range.

  • Thank you! my sister-in-law (who is NOT rich) just had to have one with her last... no room for diaper bags, cup holders, the baby doesnt have a back rest..a LOT of $$$ so I wouldnt even want to use it...

Im down for the $150 thank you Smile

Being ABLE to afford something that expensive has nothing to do with getting it or not. I'm sure plenty of us could buy it if we wanted to and just dont' see the need. Sorry, but it sounded like you're saying that the people who can afford it, get it, which just isn't true.

that's actually not what I'm saying. You also have to want it first.  But i get what you meant.  I just think if you want something you shouldnt spend your last pennies to buy it. if you dont want it and have the money and get it just to say you have one -that's ridiculous.

I want one b/c i like it, i think it's great for the city streets, and i can afford it.  you get what you can, but i see many people get it b/c they want to say they have one and that's just insane b/c there are so many amazing stroller out there that dont cost nearly that amount.

The one i saw did have a cup holder, but maybe it was an add-on (probably $100). and i'm pretty sure it had a back rest, but maybe i just thought it did..

oohh.. maybe like a bmw, some don't come fully loaded lol

Ditto. I tried it out and like how it maneuvers so easily.

  • The reason I am considering saving my money for it is b/c you can change the handle bar on the stroller to face the baby towards you or away from you. ?I think it is popular in the cities b/c the stroller is going to be the main means of transportation for us w/the babies.
