Plz recommend fave sunscreen for toddlers

We have to bring some in to our dc for when they play outside - before I go get some, anyone know something that is good, but easy to apply?

Re: Plz recommend fave sunscreen for toddlers

  • We got some spray on kind at Costco (coppertone I think?) and while the?aerosol?spray was easy to apply, it made the kids and the floor super slippery! ?I have some water babies in a spray pump that works well to spray on and rub in.

  • I don't have a favorite brand, but I like the aerosol spray the best.  Everything else seems too messy.
  • Waterbabies pump spray is my favorite. It goes on the easiest and DD has never gotten burned.

I've tried some of the more natural ones and they were so pasty that I could barely rub them into her skin.

  • I use the Aveeno (regular not the baby) spray on stuff.  I can't stand the rub in lotion.  It is so hard to rub in, and then I can never get it off of my hands.
  • I'll second the Aveeno.  It's the only kind that doesn't bother my girls' eyes.  Anything else, irritates the hell out of their eyes.  I am careful not to do their hands or near their eyes.  Somehow, though, it always gets on their hands and then in their eyes and they're a mess.  I get the spray-on kind for quick applies like for daycare or to touch up when we've been outside for a while and the lotion kind for longer times.  I usually put the lotion on them if we're going out to play in the yard/pool and I know we'll be out for a while.  Then I reapply while we're outside (if we're out long enough) with the spray-on stuff.
  • Ditto on the Aveeno. So easy. We use little sunscreen sticks for their faces.

  • Oh, yeah.  You'll definitely want to apply the spray on outside.  It is so much quicker, too than making her stand there while I get it all applied and rubbed in.
  • we've always used the water babies too. I usually keep a spray in the car and a stick in my bag.

  • One parent friend of mine swears by the spray kind, but another loves Banana Boat Baby, b/c it will not irritate eyes at all. I used it for DD last summer and I liked it okay. If you don't mind the globby rub-in kind, it's good for sensitive eyes... but I also used Neutrogena spf 30 for sensitive skin (non-baby), as recommended by our pedi, and that was great and not at all greasy... plus, the bottle it comes in is very travel friendly!
