OC girls - earthquakes?

did anyone else feel them? Or only me since I was only a couple miles from it?

the one at 5pm I really didn't feel cuz I was walking through the kitchen, but I sure heard the house creak.

the 8:30pm one was very noticable and swayed for a while after. Eeeek.

when they're smallish and after they're over they are kinda cool. Maybe it's the adrenaline rush?

but the freaky part is the total unpredictability and constant wonder of "is this a precursor to something bigger to come?"

I'm sorry. I can deal with flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes and other assorted and sundry natural disasters -

but the freaking EARTH is NOT SUPPOSED TO MOVE. No no no nono.

I would probably be like a cat who races to the top of something tall and huddles in the corner, shaking.

When I was in San Diego in 07 there was a small one when I was still sleeping on my friend's foldout. It didn't register as a earthquake, but I remember feeling a sway. I assumed it was a big truck passing by b/c my apartment sways like that when one passes.

edited a bit...fingers got too fast.

No. It is not supposed to move like that. Ships on water, yes. People on land, no. I know Cali is supposed to be stunning and gorgeous, but I cannot deal with the idea of mudslides, wildfires and earthquakes.

if you live in the middle of any sort of city or populated area - then you don't have much worries from the mud or fire. Just the shaking.

Doesn't it feel like the earth is out to get you and trying to eat you though?

At least in Houston, it's the pollution and Gulf of Mexico and God trying to kill us. Somehow that feels safer.
