So i am really trying to wean ds although it just breaks my heart...

. However my doctor seems to think it is necessary for the pregnancy. Anyway the way I've been going at it was to cut out one feeding each day, which was working great. And then I cut out the last feeding a couple of days ago anyways now I'm convinced that I'm getting mastitis on one side. So I nursed him again. Is there a better way to go about this? How do you avoid getting mastitis when weaning?

Re: How did you wean dc?
no advice, as i am still nursing lucy, but have you talked to a different doc or lac consultant? i just wonder b/c many docs are quick to say "quit nursing" but unless you are having a problem (where contractions of the uterus would be a problem & you are on pelvic rest), there really is no need to stop, from my understanding. kellymom.com has some good info, i did indeed also find that nursing helped to soothe my m/s. i have seen my supply drop some, but lucy doesn't seem to be minding at this point, just eating more solids at meals. i am also giving her cow's milk with cereal in the morning. ?
good luck, i'm sure it's not an easy decision. ?
