Anyone notice - re diaper rash & wool

I'm not positive that this is true, but I think I've noticed it, and it makes sense, so I thought I'd ask if you had an opinion.  It seems like if I notice that DS is getting a diaper rash, if I stick him in fitteds & wool for awhile, it goes away much quicker than if I keep him in the stay dry diapers with the PUL.  I figure it's just the extra air circulation - but I was wondering if it was just me assuming that this would be the case and my thoughts affecting my observations.  Your opinion/experience?

totally true in my experience too. If it is a hot day or she is wearing something heavy (like tights) and she is in PUL, there will be some irritation if we don't  get home soon...  I make sure to put her in a fitted and wool when we do and it does not flare up worse.

  • I've noticed the same thing.  The air does hel a lot.  It's about as close as a naked bum as a you can get w/out actually having him naked.

  • Totally true for us too.  One of the many reasons I love both fitteds and wool!

  • That's absolutely true. PUL does not breath and wool paired with a prefold or fitted is going to allow airflow in which can help get rid of a rash quickly, especially if it's related to moisture.

  • oh yes. it's also true with fake leather robeez type shoes and real leather robeez type shoes--with the fake ones her feet got soooooo stinky and with the real leather they're fine. breathability is a good thing!
