We like Charlotte, but our other daughter is Samantha and the Sex in the City reference will annoy me. Our other daughter is Victoria. We are having twins- a boy and a girl.?
What do you think about Julia? I like Juliana, but Dh doesn't. Dh's great grandma was named Helen. Is Helen too old fashioned??
I like George, but Dh doesn't. I also love Simon. Any suggestions for us? We like classic names.?
Re: Help with boy and girl names
I love Julia Helene. Similar to Helen. I love traditional names but Helen does sound a little too old fashioned to me. Have you thought about Henry for a boy?
I actually think Helen is cute, not a huge fan of Julia but it is pretty. Other classic names: Cora, Leah, Norah
I like Simon, Henry is kind of popular now but I think it's a great classic name.

I like Julia (not Juliana-that's a mouthful!) and I really like Helen...names with significance that are not overly popular are my fave! Other classic girls names that would go with Samantha/Victoria I can think of: Caroline, Cecilia, Anna, Lauren, Elisabeth, Olivia, Kate
I like Simon, other similar names Jacob, Michael, William, David, Alexander...
I think Helen and Simon sound like an old couple when you say them together though
haha but I do like them!
Simon George and Julia Helen. Done.
eta: from your list, I also like Gabrielle, Caroline, Colin, Dylan, Owen and Evan
First of all- CONGRATS! And holy cow do you guys move fast! I thought my cousins were crazy having four kids in 4 years. You're having 4 kids in 3 years!!!! And twins- very cool!
Now onto names. For girls I like Julia. I think it goes with Samantha and Victoria. I am not a huge fan of Helen, but I love Helena (Hel-ee-nah or Hel-ay-nah, though, instead of Helen-a). But I don't think Helen is too old fashion, I just don't particularly like it personally.
I hate George. Even for older men I think it's a terrible, terrible name. It just sounds so dumpy. I always picture some overweight balding guy with liver marks on his forehead sitting in an easy chair complaining about the weather when I hear that name. I've never MET a George that looks like that, it's just what I picture. I do like Simon, though. I think it's classic without being old fashion.
LOL!! This pregnancy was NOT planned! I would be a crazy woman if I actually tried to get pregnant when I had a 3 month old! We were going to wait another year or two, but I couldn't be happier (especially to have twins). Twins do run in my and DH's family so I really wasn't shocked when the Dr. told us. I will say that we are d-o-n-e! We wanted 4 kids so this worked perfectly...killed two birds with 1 stone LOL!! We are moving to TN summer '10. We can't afford to stay in CA, especially with so many children.
I'm with you on the California thing! I want out of here SO BAD. Especially since I watch HGTV all the time and see what kind of house you can get for $250,000 everywhere else in the country. I'd give anything for one of those nice big mansions! Hah! Sadly, DH won't leave. He's a California Snob and won't admit life is worth living elsewhere.
My cousins first two were twins and then 3 months later she was pregnant with #3. It was #4 they managed to space out two more years. But they are SO happy! I get jealous of them a lot. Their kids all seem so happy and are never bored because they're so close in age and developmentally about the same so they can play the same games/do the same activities, etc. But I imagine you'll have an interesting next two years ahead of you! Good luck!
I can understand not wanting the TV reference. I like the idea of using Helen as it's a family name but what about using Helena. I think that's really pretty.
