Re: DD stingy about teeth brushing...is electric easier?

  • I started using an electric toothbrush with DD#2 when she was younger than 18mos.  Her older sister has one & she wanted one & I think it actually makes brushing easier.

  • My dentist recommends an electric toothbrush for Jack than a regular one. He told me if his kids eat Oreos, an electric toothbrush gets their teeth clean unlike a standard brush. Not that I feed my son Oreos. His point is they are more efficient in cleaning.

I personally like the Crayola battery powered ones from Walgreens or Target. The head is tiny like my OralB. Some of the other character ones have heads that are way too big for a tiny mouth.

  • I just got both my kids electric toothbrushes and I can't BELIEVE it took me this long to make the switch.  Both my kids do a MUCH better job with the electric toothbrush.

DD, a snaggle-toothed third grader, brushes on her own, but her teeth are at so many weird angles that she often still has "gunk" on them.  The electric toothbrush helps her "polish" each tooth at just the right angle to get it clean.

Since he's only 4, I still brush my DS's teeth for him, and after the initial freak-out over the tickling of the electric brush, he LOVES it!  I got him one with Pikachu on it (he's really into Pokemon) so that helps.
