We've finally loosely agreed on some names. The biggest issue has been to incorporate my grandmother's middle name Eva in her memory (which is also part of my mom's name Evanna).
G= Eva Fae (my grammy's middle name and DH's grandma's middle name)
B= Evan Peter (my grammy and DH's favorite apostle from the Bible)
I'm not sure that I'm overly crazy with Peter but I haven't been able to come up with alternatives yet that we can agree on. I was thinking Timothy Evan for a while.
What do you guys think?
Re: Possible names...what do you think?
Favorite apostle? Really? Whatever...
I like them both

to each their own - I've just never heard that expression before. Meaningful names are great - and I like them
Hope I didn't offend. That was not my intention. Sorry.?
No offense. I'll just know from now on to just refer to it as having a biblical origin...keep it simple.
thanks!

I like them both, but don't love them.
I adore Peter. I like Timothy Peter. I like Evan okay, but I'm not a huge fan of it.
I like both Eva and Fae (although I don't care for the spelling of Fae -- I've seen Faye). But I don't like Eva and Fae together. It sounds pretty, but the child will only have a total of 6 letters in her whole first and middle names! It just seems too short somehow. But that's not the end of the world if you love it.
i realize soccerwife meant no offense by her comment, but it's quite unfortunate when someone gets the "side eye" (so to speak) for stating something so innocent as having a favorite apostle...of course, if she had said she was naming her child after her favorite actor this would have never been an issue...sad.
I agree with this... Eva Faith would be pretty, unless you literally want to use Fae. It's cool you have a name that can easily translate into a boy or girl name.
I like Peter the best of your boy names, but I think Timothy Evan "flows" better.
I really like Evan Peter a lot. That's really nice.?I love, love, love Peter!?Timothy Evan is ok, but I prefer Evan for a first name.
Eva Fae is nms, but I love the significance so I say go for it!
Not strange at all. We love Ruth because it's Dh's grandma, but she's also such a great Biblical figure to look up to. I think going to the Bible to find names is a wonderful idea. It's a lot better than naming your children after TV characters that aren't real.?
Ignore that comment. Just rude.?
Thanks ladies for your opinions. I see what you mean about Eva Fae being short but our last name is a tongue twister and long so I actually want a short first part. DS's name is Eli Bowman. Try to keep it simple! I did think about elongating them too but I told my grammy before she passed that we would use Eva if we could so in some weird way I still want to do that....eventhough I know she wouldn't mind. I know thats maybe a little odd.
Thanks again! I'm glad to hear all the positives on Peter so will DH :-)
