Did your wedding have a theme?

Just curious.

  • my theme was to get married and let all our guests get drunk at the reception

other than that, no, no theme

  • no.. I had a color that I ran with but that was really it.

  • we did, but it was subtle. We used 'wine' as our theme (as we love wine). Our colours were deep plum and sage green. We used wine corks to hold the name cards, and had a huge 3L bottle of wine for folks to sign as our 'guest book'- we'll open it on our 10th anniversary. Oh, and gave wine bottle stoppers as favours

  • My reception had sort of an animal theme since it was at the zoo.  We had little elephant placecard holders, etc, but it wasn't overwhelming.

  • Sortofnotreally, unless a 40's style wedding with 80's music counts
  • if a certain logo printed on the invite, napkins, matches, placement cards etc counts as a theme then yes.

  • We had a fall theme along the lines of what y'all are saying - in the decoration, the cake, the invitations, the colors.  But not in your face THIS IS THE THEME.

  • We had a Vegas theme, in that in was in Vegas. We treated the guests to a buffet dinner the night before. The wedding was a 15 minute ceremony at the Planet Hollywood and then we partied in a swanky suite after.

  • Wasn't there a girl on the Nest like 4 years ago that had a Cinderella theme? or was it Disney?

It was seriously f-ed up. (IMO)

  • I wanted to have a Red Sox theme and get married at Fenway. DH shot me down hard core.
  • no- i suppose we didn't. our main "thing" was that it was a very kid friendly wedding. dry- lots of kid stuff (toys, books, coloring- etc) outside & early!
  • Because I wanted to get married on a beach and DH shot that down (I'll still never forgive him for that), I had a lot of tropical-esque things.  Bright colors, orchids, our logo per say was tropical....but it was also pretty simple and nothing blatant like shells or sand or anything.

  • Ours was a wintery holiday feel. The reception was already decorated for Christmas (subtle though, with just some lighted garlands and a decorated tree in the foyer). We had pointsettias set out, candles floating in cranberries as centerpieces, and little silver bells with either Xmas tress or snowflakes as the handle for placecard/favor.
I thought it had a classy feel w/o being super Christmasy.

MrBunny was appalled when he discovered that our wedding just happened to be on the same date that Alabama played it's first football game.  A coincidence I assure you.  Okay, maybe not.

We did have a cardinals "groom's cake" although it wasn't a groom's cake at all.  Plus we took pictures at Busch Stadium.  That was all he would allow.

The Red Sox just so happened to win on the night of my wedding. I also had an amazing bridal attendant who would come over and whisper the score of the game to me throughout the night.

  • No just the colors. Pink and ivory.

  • no theme. just espresso and lilac for colors.
  • no theme here either..... just used hydrangeas for all the florals in the same color at both the ceremony and reception.
  • We used fall-ish colors.  And it was kind of Colorado-ish (mountain lodge location)

  • ::blushes:: Yes. We had a Celtic theme, but not too over the top. DH and the GMs wore kilts, and he gave them all sian dubhs (those knives in their socks) for GM gifts. We had a bagpiper piping people into the church, and he played Highland Cathedral with the organ. A friend sang the Celtic Alleluia.

Our invites had a subtle embossed Celtic knot design around them, my bouquet was wrapped in tartan ribbon, and had shamrocks in among the roses. Each table at the reception was named after a county in Ireland (our HM destination)

So a few touches here and there, but not all Celtic, all the time.

  • Halloween/Costume theme since we were married at Halloween.

  • Sort of an Irish theme. Piper outside the church, session musicians during cocktail hour, and an Irish band. And a Bailey's flavored cake.

  • Yes, I admit to being lame. It was cherry blossoms with Japanese touches and down right beautiful (if it wasn't for the freezing cold).

It was beautiful. I've totally stalked your pictures many time. I love the one with the parasol.

  • my theme was to get through it w/o killing my drunk MIL.  who's depressed on their son's wedding day?  cut the cord, lady...
