I had a Shirley Temple drink at a Chinese restaurant last night, and I am in LOVE. I had never had one before. Now I can't stop thinking about how delicious it was! This is just like my first pregnancy, where I was constantly craving fruity drinks....I want to make one at home and I've been looking up the recipe online, but it seems like there are different ways to make it. I don't know exactly what was in the restaurant's (ginger ale? Sprite? 7-Up?). I'm considering calling the restaurant to ask, but I feel like that would be a little weird! What do you think is the best recipe for a Shirley Temple?

Re: Best recipe for a Shirley Temple?
Ginger ale and grenadine=my favorite drink growing up:-)
Another tasty non alcoholic beverage Arnold Palmer (1/2 iced tea 1/2 lemonade)
My Grandpa used to make these for us, and I've never seen anyone use his recipe. But it is the best.
1/2 7up or sprite, 1/2 orange juice and a splash of cherry juice from the jar.
You can use grenadine, but it isn't as good as the juice from the jar.
It's super fruity with the OJ, but I've never seen it served with OJ other than when he made them for us.
I make more of a cherry lime ade, but tastes very similar (I have been craving these too!) I put 7up or sprite, a splash of lime juice and some cherry juice from the jar...throw a few cherries in, and enjoy! So good!

OMG! I looooove Shirley Temples. I used to order one every time we went to a restaurant when I was little.
I think it's just grenadine + sprite or 7-up. And don't forget the cherry!
