Thoughts Please, I'm really worried

Yesterday was Sophie's follow-up head u/s.  I posted about it yesterday but I didn't get to talk to her Pedi. until this morning.  They are referring her to a pediatric neurosurgeon.  He said the u/s showed more risidual fluid this time compared to last month's u/s and they couldn't see the membrane this time either.  I'm so worried.  :(  She does have her NICU follow-up this coming Tues. so I wonder if they will do their own u/s too to see what's up.

    Just wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you and Sophie.  I hope they can figure out what is going on soon.  I know from personal experience how terrifying this can be (Aubrey had hydrocephalus).  Hang in there hon!

    I'm sorry sweetie. Are they saying what it may be? Hydrocephalous (speling may be off)? I don't know what the previous u/s showed...has there always been fluid?

    Anyway, don't freak! If she behaving normally and not showing any signs of imbalence/asymmetry I'm sure its not affecting her brain activity.

    the first u/s a month ago showed some fluid in between her brain & skull, so they said it wasn't hydrocephalous.  She is behaving normally, I had thought of that too.  Thanks again girls!

    Trust me, I know anything with the brain is scary to hear. Marino had IVH and then bacterial meninigitis at the same time and we were terrified but he is totally fine. The dr would tell you if he was very worried- he probably just wants to be thorough!

    Drake had (has?) extra fluid between his skull and his brain. Our doctor told us that Drake will outgrow this condition sometime before his 3rd birthday. I think it's called "external hydrocephalus".

    I hope that you get similar news. It is SO scary. Hang in there. {{{hugs}}}
