What age did you introduce whole milk?

I started DD1 on it around 11 months. DH wants to take me away for a weekend, but DD2 is still nursing every 3-4 hours. I told him that I would be more comfortable waiting until she nurses less frequently or is starting on whole milk. I don't want to have to drag a pump along with us. Did anyone introduce whole milk at 10 months? I'm not talking about switching to whole milk, either, just giving her a bottle of whole milk once every other day or so. Thoughts?

I started letting dd have a little bit of milk here and there shortly before her first birthday. I'm not sure that I personally would do it quite as early as 10 months, but by 11 months I figure that they're close enough to 1 y/o that a few weeks isn't going to really make much of a difference...

Not until a little after 12 months. 10 months seems really early to me. I wouldn't do it without a Dr's approval.

Thanks for the input, ladies. I think I will wait until 11- 12 months. She so addicted to her boobs that I wonder how I'll ever wean her.

DS is still nursing, and I just returned from a one-week vacation with DH. He was just shy of 11 months when we left him. I hadn't intended to have him start on whole milk just yet, but I found out my mom had been giving him some in a sippy while we were away. He did just fine, and resumed nursing like nothing had happened (if anything, he's been making up for lost time!). I did bring a pump for my own comfort during the trip, and so I wouldn't lose my supply in case DS still wanted to nurse when I returned.
