The dr told me today I have trapezius and levator scapulae spasms, pectoral girdle dysfunction and a myofasical tear. He wants to give me a shot in the top of my shoulder but I'm a scaredy cat and I'm afraid.
No it did not work. I have not heard of any personal success stories. My orthopedic surgeon swore by them, but everyone I talked to said they ended up with surgery. The pain is ridiculous. I thought my hand was going to fall off.
I have tattoos and I'm not afraid of needles but the thought of it being so close to my neck freaks me out. Then he told me about the possibility of infection. I almost fainted.
The pain is freaking unbearable right now and he gave me these stupid little Flector patches and sent me on my way. They are an anti-inflammatory! WTF am I supposed to do until it lowers the inflammation?
I had one in my foot one time for plantar fasciitis. I actually don't remember the shot hurting, and it did make my foot feel better for a little while...but the pain came back once the shot wore off.
Re: Cortisone injections
PAINFUL!
I had one in my wrist last year. They stick a needle in between joints and shoot the cortizone into the joint.
