Going crazy bored on mat leave.

I have a 2 y o who I would like to take to the zoo (outside) but my mom... who is supposed to be helping me, won't "let me." She's worried about taking the baby out, so we are stuck at home because SHE is worried. She'll take me to the store or to target, where there are many more people, but not to an outdoor park, because he's too fragile. BTW, who is the mother here?

Yeah, I could go and leave her alone, but don't want to be rude.

*sigh*

I've done - a walk around the neighborhood. DD all of a sudden wants to be in her stroller again.

We've let DD pick a movie out. My mom has done all the laundry in the house and keeps cleaning and asking "What else can I clean?" DD has gotten more baths this week than ever before in her life.

    It's great you have help because what I'm doing is laundry, cleaning, taking care of the baby, and making dinner each night.  My days seem to fly by, I can't believe my leave will be over soon. 

    I'm trying to work out each day to get back in shape.  Not sure how old your baby is but maybe you're not cleared to exercise yet?  When I first came home I was in so much pain, it was mostly watch tv or care for the baby.
