I just asked my boss for a 3-day work week!!

I currently work 5 5-hour days. The IL's come to our house 3 days a week and watch Ryan and DH watches her 2 days until I get home at 3 then he goes to work. While he loves having that time with Ryan it is very hard for him because his phone is ringing all day long and he has to answer it. So he is dealing with some major work issues while trying to watch Ryan at the same time. Now that the new baby is coming too, he doesn't know how he will be able to handle it. Plus they sometimes will call him in at the last minute for "mandatory" meetings and we have to scramble to find someone to come over and watch Ryan. Any way....I decided to ask my boss for a 3-day work week so that I will work MWF and have TR off. While I will LOVE having 2 days off, I am dreading the 8 hour work day! My boss is meeting with her boss this afternoon. She is all for it but she is not sure what he is going to say.

Good luck! It sounds like a much easier schedule to handle! I have a part-time work proposal I would be happy to share with you if you'd like. My boss was very impressed with it.

Good luck! I hope your bosses boss goes for it! I'm working 4 6-hour days at my new job and am so looking forward to it, I think it's perfect for me. I think having two days off per week would be worth a slightly longer workday for you, and it would definitely make your DH's life easier!
