u/s? I've had several, but since my last I wondered if we will have another before D-Day? At what week do you, if you do? I imagine you have to have one late in the game to determine the baby is breech or not? dunno...
Unless they want to confirm position after they feel for it or have reason to suspect high/low fluid or very large/small baby, many docs won't do another u/s after your 20 week one before you deliver. I am not expecting another one.
But you never know...near the end, they may want some visual information they can only get that way. I'd ask your doctor/mw at your next appt.
I have only had 1...yeah you read right....ONE. Kinda sucks. My doc said they typically only do one unless there are complications. So I guess it's good that I don't have more. But I am curious to see how other Drs do things.
I received 2. The first was early to confirm/date the pregnancy and then the second was around 20 weeks to make sure that the baby is developing properly. That's all that I get. If there is a concern then they would do another.
Dx PCOS 2004...Married Oct. 2008... Complete surprise BFP on BCP Oct 2008..Amazing, miracle born 6/8/09...TTC #2 since 6/10
I plan on asking this at my appointment today. I just wonder why my friend got them every 2 weeks for months and I've only had 2 my whole pregnancy. I'm guessing she had issues that I didn't know about.
I would like to have one more towards the end to make sure she's in a good position.

I've had 2 so far...one in the beginning around 10 weeks, and another at 19 weeks...I asked if I was going to have another and my doc said..."maybe, we might do one more near the end to get approx. weight"....so with that...I don't know.
I've had 3 - 1 at 8 weeks transvaginally to confirm the pregnancy, 1 when i went in at week 13 for my NT/genetic testing, and 1 at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan...in CA, that's all you get if things are progressing as expected. (in fact, i got an extra one because i opted for genetic tests)...we're just waiting till this little munchkin pops out to meet him! you could always pay for a 3-d ultrasound if you really want to see him (insurance doesn't typically cover this as there's no medical need to getting a 3d)
I got one at 8w to confirm, another at 10w because they were concerned about the 8w one with my dates, the Nuchal Translucency at 13w (that one was optional, but covered by insurance), and the 20w anatomy scan. We are having another one tomorrow at 37w to check position/weight, etc. OB says he likes to do one at the end just to see how everything is looking, but I don't think a lot of doctors do this.
I got a preliminary one at 15 weeks then one at 21 to check on her growth, position of organs, gender, etc. I got one more last week- a 3D- which my doc office does as a "courtesy" for their patients- just for fun.
There won't be any more unless its for medical reasons.

I have had two: one at 8w2d and another at 16w2d...I don't get any more.
Your OB can determine the baby's position by feeling your belly.

My last one was at 21 weeks I don?t have anymore unless there is a question about the baby?s position.
