Just in case - accuracy of CD2 or CD4 b/w

Tentative CD3 falls on a Friday, and my doctor does not draw blood on weekends.  If my cycle deviates, how much accuracy do I lose by doing the draw on CD2 or CD4?  Is it worth it to wait until the following cycle after all, or are CD2 and CD4 draws pretty accurate?

Re: Just in case - accuracy of CD2 or CD4 b/w

  • my doctor will do it usually CD 3-5, with no worries about what difference it will make.    i've also heard of women doing CD2.    so i think you're fine!

  • My RE does it anywhere from CD2-4, so you should be fine.

  • I had b/w initially done on CD4 due to some bad information I got and my RE actually requested that I get it redone the next cycle on CD3 and used those results over the first test.  He also said that CD2 is preferable to CD4.  However, it seems from the other replies here that he is in the minority with this stance.

  • Hi jlcrane! I'm in a very similar situation so I'm glad you asked this question. I *think* I can get b/w on Saturday (which, if I get AF tomorrow as expected will be c/d). But you know how AF is...and I want my b/w to be as accurate as possible! Hopefully AF cooperates for both of us and we can get our cd 3 b/w without worry. GL! :)
