Sophie is doing great! I can't believe its been a month since we've been to the Pedi. since the Synagis shots are over with. Since everything is on track they said they don't need to see her until her 1st birthday! YIKES, 3 months? AACKK, I feel so lost...lol. So she is now weighing 17 lbs, 3 oz. and 25 1/2" long. Her head circumference is now 46 cm up from 43 1/2 last month, so we are still going for the follow-up head u/s this afternoon. Wish us luck! She got her TB test and anemia test. All looked good so we can stop the iron drops again. WOOHOO. The Dr. also said that we can start meat/yo baby yogurt/citrus fruits. She said no berry fruits until after she turns 1 year. So, I have some questions:
When do you give yogurt during the day/how much?
The Dr. said we can give the meat at dinnertime, so would I still give her cereal with that meal too?
She is now just getting fruit/cereal/bottle for dinner, so that means she will be getting 1 less serving of fruits, do I need to add it in another time of day? She already gets fruit/cereal/bottle for breakfast & Veggie/cereal/bottle for lunch.
THANKS! I'll update later about the head u/s.
Re: Great 9 month check-up!
Good luck with the head u/s. We just had one a couple of weeks ago. Marino's head is enormous (99th percentile for adjusted age, 89th for actual). I like to think it is accomodating a very large brain:)
We give yogurt in the morning. I mix in pureed fruit. He loves it! I do about 2 oz of yougurt and 1 oz of fruit.
I would still give cereal with the meat for now. The meat at this point is mainly to get her used to the texture and taste. Marino HATES meat, but we're working on it.
I would think you probably want to be giving 3 solid meals a day at least. We do yogurt/fruit for breakfast, veggie for lunch and fruit/cereal for dinner, with 5 bottles mixed in and a few snacks (yogurt melts, gluten-free cereal, small banana pieces, MumMums).
We give him yogurt a few mornings a week but not every morning. I mix it with pureed fruit and sometimes fruit and oatmeal together. Here is what our meals for the day looked like at 9 months:
Breakfast: fruit and yogurt, fruit and oatmeal, or all three in smaller amounts
Lunch: veggie, rice, and meat or fruit and meat (he took meat better somedays mixed with fruit like apples and chicken)
Dinner: fruit, veggie and rice
The total amount of each meal at 9 months was around 5-8 oz. I nursed him at other times of the day besides meal time bc he ate better that way.
I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose. whatever works for you and your DD.
Have fun and so glad your check up went well !
