I went off BCPs in September 2007. From September 07 to May 08 we were trying, but not with 100% effort. So that would be 8 months. Then from May 08 to now would be 11 months.
So 8+11 = 19 cycles, no?
When I posted that intro in October, that was 6 months ago, right? So I would have been on cycle 13 at that time.
Ok, I think I just got it. I kept re-reading my post trying to figure out what was so douchey.
Originally I didn't count the first 8 months as TTC since I wasn't giving it 100% effort. But I realized that not using protection was pretty much TTC.
So in October 2008 I was either TTC for 13 cycles or 5 (give or take a month or two). When I posted that I must have not been counting the first 8 cycles.

Maybe that's where the confusion comes in?
Keep telling yourself that sweetie. Then you can ashley your way onto Clomid.
Ashley wanted to get pregnant. She'd been trying for like 2 minutes or something and then got frustrated. So she decided to extend her time trying to like 20 years and then got an RE appt and cried her way into clomid.
FYI: Even with perfectly timed cycles and no other issues, you have a 20% of conceiving.
If you've been having sex without condoms, but not knowing when you're conceiving, that doesn't mean you're "really trying".
But, if putting yourself on cycle 19 makes you feel better about going to the doctor and crying for some treatment and some drugs, help yourself.
Maybe if you're good, someday auntie Boo will tell you about the time Ashley went overdramatically fake-suicidal on the nest and a bunch of idiots techno-stalked her and were seconds away from calling 911 to bust down her door.
Thanks for the info. I really mean it, because now I know what you guys are talking about when you mention "Ashley."
And no, putting "cycle 19" doesn't make me feel better. I just thought leaving off the first 8 months was not really being honest, so I added in those 8 cycles.
And I didn't do it at all for being able to see an RE. Anyone that "knows" me and my TTC story knows that I'm actually doing just the opposite. My OB put in an RE referral for me a few months ago, but I haven't gone yet. DH and I are not quite ready yet, and we want to keep trying on our own for a while. So the adjustment on my number of cycles has nothing to do with being able to see an RE.

So by that thinking DH and I were TTCing for 7 years before we got KU. That's depressing.

Exactly, at this rate my time TTC went from 22 cycles to 37 cycles just like that.
TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!
and holy hell, it's been forever since I thought of Ashley... anyone know if she actually got KU'd thanks to her suicidal fit... shakes head... I mean, clomid?
Well, my understanding is that sex without protection for the purpose of conceiving is TTC, no? What about those that don't ever chart, use OPKs, etc. Are they not also considered to be TTC?
Anyway, it doesn't really matter at this point. Whether I'm going on cycle 20 or cycle 12, it doesn't matter. I'm not going to see an RE any time soon, it's not like I tried to lie about my numbers so that I could have excuse to see an RE. I also don't appreciate being called a liar, especially since you were all wrong about me.

cycle 19, you say?
Yep.
somebody is either not so good at math, or a complete liar.

Its...its....an inverse relationship. I wonder why.
