What to ask LC?

I have a LC coming to my house tomorrow to meet with me before baby comes. I don't know what I don't know and therefore I need some help coming up with good questions, concerns, etc. What do I need to know? Any insight would be awesome. I am sure she will have points to speak on, but I didn't know if there were some things that came up for you that you wished you'd known beforehand. TIA

    I'm not sure what an LC could have helped with pre-baby unless you were to use it like more of an education/class about latches, etc. If you've already done those things, I'd probably reschedule for after the baby gets here. Otherwise, maybe ask for some good resources for support after you start bfing like websites she recommends, bf groups locally, etc. I am a firm believer that a bfer is only as good as her support system. There is no way I'd have made it this far w/o the help and support of my dh, lc, and friends/family who could help with advice.

    I would ask her for the best way to get in touch after the baby.  Mine called my house to check in a few times.  The first time she called was when DD was 8 days old and hitting her first growth spurt.  I was starting to question my supply and was too busy/tired to reference my books, but she called and reminded me that any day now DD would start nursing like crazy and pass out like a drunken sailer half-way through.  I laughed and said, OMG, she's doing it now!

    1. Can you be there for the birth to help with that first latch?
    2. What other resources do you recommend? (LLL-go to their websites for more question posing info, books, classes, etc.)
    3. Who should I call if we develop thrush, mastitis, etc?
    4. How do I breastfeed and what should I expect while doing it?
    5. How will I know if my baby is getting enough to eat?
    Also, she may be able to help you set up a nursing station in your home.  Good for you having an LC prior to the birth; wish I had.
