Clomid for LPD?

Anyone take clomid for a luteal phase defect?  Just heard from friend that this is what was prescribed for some of her other friends that had lpd.

Crazy how when you start talking about IF to people, it seems like everyone has it and knows several people who have it.

    I haven't taken it for LPD, but I have noticed that it extends my LP by about 3 days. My LP was usually 11-12 days with out clomid.

    It didn't work at all for me, BUT I struck gold when the Dr. gave me 1/2 of an HCG shot to trigger ovulation and then 1/2 of the HCG shot one week later (to keep my body from decomposing the lining.)  There are three issues that can cause LPD, and I think the solution just depends on which of the three you have.  In my case, my progestrone levels crash after ovulation, so my LP is VERY short: 8 days.  Even when the egg and sperm meet, it does not result in pregnancy since the lining has already begun to discinigrate.  The HCG shot worked on the FIRST try.  In fact, I'm 6 months post partum and going back to my RE next week to TTC again.  Fingers crossed the same magic will happen again!
