3rd Trimester

If I went swimming...

and my water broke, how would I know? Would it feel like I peed in the pool? lol. Am 37 wks and asked my doc if I could swim, and he said I could swim safely until the very end of the pregnancy. I did not, however, ask him about the water breaking thing!

  • I guess you'd know when your contractions were regular!

  • I take water aerobics and thought the same thing. Since most woman don't have a gush, you would probably notice that you were still getting wet after you got out of the pool.

  • you will still trickle fluid even after your water breaks, because 1 all of it doesnt come out, the baby blocks a lot of it, and 2 the placenta replenishes the fluid every so often so you will have fluid leaking out of you...you will know if it broke after you are all dry and then find that you feel like you peed your pants...

  • Please ask your doctor this question...please!
  • This happened to my friend.  She was in her parents pool and never knew it broke until that night she went to the hospital with labor pains and they told her it had.
