Fine, i want to avoid the stuff on my desk, so I'll try and explain (and I should C&P this for later).
Once upon a time, all that existed on the Nest was BOTB. yes, I'm that old. Then the Nest started to realize that there were distinct groups within BOTB: some people were having trouble, some were pregnant, and beyond, and BOTB just didn't cut it for everyone. So spinoffs were invented: first TTTC, and then an explosion of trimester boards, etc. There were still people left who were just getting started TTC, so GP was born. There were women over 35 who felt they couldn't relate to a 20something who was pregnant, so TTC After 35 was added. There were women who finally succeeded after IF treatments (SAIF), those experiencing a loss, etc. There was also this weird in-between group who didn't fit into the GP mold, but weren't considered technically TTTC, since they had been trying less than a year. TTC6+ was created.
If you followed TTC6+ for any length of time, it became pretty apparent that a) most of the women on this board were trying for longer than 6 months, but felt comfortable in this community, and 2) the vibe her is very different from TTTC. TTTC is all IF, all the time, and very little else. Snark is not there much (except lately, but that's another story). Here there is talk about merms, unicorns, bacon, Twilight, vag farts, fartbars, and many things not at all related to TTC and its aftermath.
Since the vibe here is unique, Knot Anni asked if we should rename the board. After soliciting multiple pages of suggestions, she went with the Bump's idea of a name change, which was TTC12+. We're not happy about it, TTTC went all up in arms about it, and it has caused the most confusion I have ever seen on the Nest/Bump.
Bottom line, TTTC and TTC12+ are the same only if you look at length of time trying. The personalities of the 2 boards are actually quite different. Lurk in both, post in both, either, or neither, and see where you fit in.
Try not to overthink this. My hands are going to fall off trying to type this nonsense every day.

Thanks so much Loretta for typing all of this for me. ?I really appreciate your effort. ?I think that TTC6+ makes more sense IMHO. ?After all, where do people in the 6-12 mos. like myself go...Getting pretty sick of GP. ?After all, 6+ means 6 and over..., right??

Yah, but how do you think most of us (whom have/had been TTC for 18 months or more) felt when a cycle 6er came over whining about not being pg yet. We got pretty sick of that.
The name change has finally eliminated that annoyance.
The whole reason the board wanted a name change was to avoid the numbers. There are a few of us who regularly post here who are not in the 12+ group yet. Some of us are in the repeat pregnancy loss category and don't care for TTCAL, some are only beginning their testing and diagnosis stage, and some of us are in the t-ttc category and pursuing what I think of as the intermediate treatments (clomid, femara, unmedicated iui's, etc).
The whole point is that this board isn't about numbers, it's about snark and mostly getting away from ttc. We do talk some about it, but for the most part - we don't.

so I guess you prefer another TTC6-12 months board as well....I don't see a prob with that.?
since most of us have been here since this boards creation in January 2008 - and were all over the 6mo timeframe at that point... that makes most here in month 20 or longer (except for the few awesome newbs that get us as we "get" them).
just as 6+ was created to get away from uber-newbie questions and cycle 1-3 BFP's of GP, this new board needed a break from the "I've been trying for 6 months and now would like to start OPKs - what are your opinions on those?" posts. And others that were along those lines.

Is no one else going to do it? Ok, I'll do it.
You have FAR too many tickers. In this neck of the woods it is frowned upon and migraine inducing.
