3rd Trimester

When I stit for more than 20 min...

I HURT like hell.  I feel like something is digging into my ribs and between my belly and bb's.  Sometimes I just sit here and cry about it, at my desk because it hurts so bad.  Somedays..I want to scream on my way home in the car, and I only have a 25 minute commute.  Do any of you feel this?

Re: When I stit for more than 20 min...

  • ON A DAILY BASIS.

My desk job sucks hardcore b/c of it, too. I asked my OB about this and he said my torso is very short... meaning there's not a whole lot of wiggle room there. So by sitting straight up in a desk chair for 8 hours a day, it's putting pressure on my cervix and lower abdomen. By 2:00, I'm ready to bail from the pain! I go straight home (30 minute commute, too) and lay down until about 7:30, when I feel perfectly fine again.

LO is constantly pressing into my ribs and bewbs all day like he just doesn't have enough room in there.

For this reason- I'm starting my mat. leave at 37 weeks to just save myself the pain of this damned desk chair!!

  • I felt the same way on Sunday.  I didnt sleep at all on Saturday night and I was exhausted and my hips were killing me on Sunday.  I laid in bed, watched reality TV and cried.

I wish I could go early.  I can't even wathc a movie cause I can only get comfortable for 15-20 min at a time.  I am glad I am not the only one.  I have a short torso as well, so I guess this is my problem too, but damn it is frustrating!

  • Ditto.

Apparently my problem is muscular.  I've just been prescribed Flexeril and referred to a physical therapist.  I'm considering holding off on the drugs until I can get in with the PT to confirm the root of the problem.

But, seriously, I'm in major unrelenting stabbing pain most of every day and I don't know if I can keep working (at my desk job) as a result.  Maybe that makes me a wimp, but so be it.

I'm so sorry to hear you have to deal with it, too!

  • I had that problem since about 20 weeks.  Now I'm later in the pregnancy, it has gotten better.  It wasn't even just at work, it would be at dinners or people's homes.  At home, I plop some toss pillows under my back and on my side when I sit on the sofa and that helps.
