We love the name Claire and Colleen is DH's mother's name. I know Clair is popular right now, but I like the simple elegance of the name and haven't seen this combo yet.?

I like it a lot. I am not a huge alliteration in names fan, but I think alliteration with a FN/MN or MN/LN is usually okay - because how often do we say one's full name?

Claire and Colleen are both beautiful names, and it's good that you'd be honoring MIL.

Thanks, ladies :-) I appreciate your input! I don't think I would have thought up the combo if Colleen wasn't MIL's name. DH & I think she's an amazing woman, so what better way to honor her?

I totally agree about the middle name usage thing. It will be VERY rare that anyone says her middle name as we won't stress calling her by both, just Claire. And our last name starts with an S - so no worries about a triple 'C'.?
