DC not wanting BM?

I have been exclusively pumping since my DS was 2 months old as he began refusing to breast feed.  Ever since I have been working very hard to try to keep up with him by pumping several times a day however over the past few weeks he has been fussing when we try to feed him the BM in a bottle.  He takes forever to drink it and clearly does not seem to like it.  He is supplemented with formula mostly at night since it is quicker to make however trying to get him to drink what I have pumped during the day has been a fight.  We heat it before and sometimes during the feed as if it cools he stops eating.

Has anyone experienced this and have any ideas.  I have not changed my diet or anything really.  It's getting so discouraging honestly as I have had more problems with breastfeeding DS #2 that I did with DS #1 (mastitis, blood in milk, refusal, etc...)    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Have you tried mixing it with formula?  Try doing a bottle of half formula, half breastmilk - if he is liking the formula better, that might help him tolerate the BM.
