She was like my child until I had a real human one, and I'm just distraught. I remember seeing her as late as Saturday night when I was at my parent's house, where she lives since DH has pet allergies. She is an indoor cat, so it's very scary to think of her being outside. The closest she has been to outside was getting trapped in the garage once, and that experienced traumatized her. I don't even know how she could have gotten out of the house or why she would have tried to go out, since she hasn't before. We are pretty certain she's not in the house--my mom has checked high and low. She does hide a lot since she's finicky around the kids my mom watches, but it's not usually hard to find her and get her to come out. We've made posters, reported her missing to the the county animal shelter and she has a micro chip. We've looked around the neighborhod but my guess is that she is hiding somewhere since she hides a lot even in her own house, so searching outside hasn't turned anything up--she could be anywhere! I just feel so terribly helpless. Anyway, please just keep her in your thoughts that she'll use her pet instincts and be safe and hopefully return home where she is VERY much loved and missed!

Re: My cat is missing! :(
I have two cats, so I know how you feel. For what it's worth, one of my cats eascaped and she was missing for at least three months. We thought she was gone for good (she was almost 10 years old). To our suprise, our fat little house cat returned...much thinner, but in good condition. She is now almost 14 years old and still with us. I hope your kitty finds her way home, you would be suprised how well their instincts kick in.
Oh no! If it's any consolation, DH's parent's cat ran away for two months - they resigned themselves to the fact that he was gone, even got a new cat - then he showed up on the doorstep, no worse for the wear. But I know it's so scary when you have no idea where they are - I hope she comes home soon!
Oh no! I know EXACTLY how you are feeling! My cats were my babies, too. We had to put our female cat to sleep a few months ago, and I was a TRAIN WRECK! The male cat one is so jealous of DS right now, since he quickly got used to being the only baby in the family. No lie - he acts like I would imagine a toddler would act when a family brings home a new baby (he's even taken to sleeping in the DS's crib during the day).
Hang in there - I once thought our female cat had gotten out during a showing of our house; but it turned out that she was just hiding under the couch for hours (a place she NEVER hid).
((Hugs))
Try posting on Craigslist too. I know when I get on I usually check the lost & found, just so I can keep an eye out.

Good luck. I can't imagine if my baby kitty were missing for so long.
I just had the news on and they were talking about a lot of cats missing from a neighborhood but I really wasn't paying attention. However now that I think about it my Aunts cat of over 10 years is missing. hmm.
Hope your cat shows up soon!
