3rd Trimester

s/o laundry detergent

so y'all know that TIDE free and clear is the same as PUREX free and clear ... or ARM & HAMMER ... or ALL ... or your local, generic supermarket brand.

Free and Clear is free and clear, so it's all the same. Tide will charge you $15 what you can get from Purex for $4.

Just trying to save y'all a little money here ... diapers are expensive, you know Wink

Re: s/o laundry detergent

  • Yup. That is why I will be sticking with Purex Free and Clear!

  • Diapers are expensive! We've been buying the 84ct of Pampers Swaddlers at Wal-Mart for under $20 (I think $18 or $19) and looked at them yesterday at BRU and they had theirs priced at $21 and some change!!

We bought Dreft. I love the smell of it.

  • I buy All F&C at Sam's Club because it's pretty cheap...have been for years because DH has the worst allergies on the face of the planet, and knowing our luck, the baby will, too.

  • I switched from Tide to Purex a few months ago and I actually like it better than Tide.  I'll be going with Purex free and clear.

Well that's not necessarily true - Tide F&C has enzymes in it to assist with clenaing, All F&C has two formulas, one available through military commissaries that really is free and clear of additives and one available to the rest of us with optical brighteners.  Purex F&C also has optical brighteners.  This really only comes into play if your baby is sensitive to any of these and/or you are using cloth diapers but you can check to see that they all have different ingredients.  I've been looking for Purex everywhere though and can't find it but when I do it's what we'll use.

  • I have used many detergents and the only I personally like is Tide.

Purex doesn't clean well for my taste. IMO. I think its a bit watery.

  • i also bought purex free and clear - we are going to try CDing and i read good things about using purex.  i have heard that tide can be problematic by affecting absorbancy and odor retention.
