dh thinks its an old persons name. just wondering if others feel that too

Re: do you think Jocelyn is an 'old ' name

  • I adore this name. If it wasn't for the nn Josie which I hate I would have this at the top of our list. Another similar name I also really like is Jacinda. It is an "older" name but Lord willing your baby will one day be an old person!

  • I think it's a really pretty name without any strong attachments to one era or another.
  • no, it's very pretty. I know someone with a first grader named Jocelyn, she goes by Joci sometimes.

  • I like it a lot, and I think it's timeless. I don't knw any old lady Jocelyns, but I do know a couple of 40 or 50-somethings..

  • Jocelyn is a great name, I went to high school with a Josselyn, and everyone called her Joss. It's somewhat unique as of today. I love it!
  • I think of it more as a late 70s/early 80s name, because I grew up with several Jocelyns. I think it's pretty!

No, I think the opposite. The only Jocelyn I know is my cousin's baby. I think it's pretty and different without being weird.?
  • I know a 6-year-old named Jocelyn so no, I definitely don't think of it as an "old" name.  I think it's a beautiful name.  I don't know how you'd spell it, but her friends sometimes call her Jossie/Joci.

I really like Jacinda too! I thought I was the only one. My husband looked at me incredulously when I sprung it on him, though. Suffice to say, it's not a contender. Stick out tongue

  • I think of it as an "old" name, but most of the names that are "old" are coming back into use, so soon it probably won't seem that way.

  • No I love that name!
  • nms but I don't think of it as an "old lady" name.

actually according the babynamewizard.com's Voyager the name peaked in popularity in 2007, so its definitely not.
