At 11 months I was down to pumping twice a day, once at night and once in the morning. I dropped the night session, then just pumped in the AM for a few days, then I went at day and a half. I was down to barely getting an ouce at a session, so it only took me about a week and a half to wean. Congrats for making it a year!
I just gradually cut down how often and how long I pumped until I got down to one session that I did for about ten minutes. I did that for a week or so and then stopped pumping.
To quit pumping I only pumped when I was engorged and only pumped enough so that it didn't hurt, not until empty like I was doing previously. My body quickly got the hint that it didn't need to make more milk. It took about a week to wean from the pump. Congrats on making it this long! Way to go!!!
I was at 2 pump sessions for a long time then just dropped it to 1 session for about one week. Then I just stopped pumping completely. I was fine for about one week and then I got clogs in both my breasts - I pumped it out and that was the last time I pumped. My breasts are SO small and soft now!! And I'm actually happy about it. What I'm not happy about is that Auntie Flo is back after 2 years!!! =(
Re: EP'ers- How did you wean?
