I know, I know -- we all get the comments. But I was so proud of myself the other day when someone commented on my twins that I had to share
I was a on a walk with the twins and went past a strip mall -- there was a lady outside the local tabacco store and here's how the conversation went:
Lady: Twins huh? Double Trouble!
Me: No -- just double the love.
Lady: Oh, well I have 2 sets of twin grandbabies -- a boy/girl set and girls. So that's why I said double trouble.
Me: I'm sorry you think your Grandkids are trouble (walks away without saying another word).
Seriously -- you would *think* a Grandmother of 2 sets of twins would know better, wouldn't you? Hopefully she thinks twice before saying double trouble again! I cannot imagine the hurtful/irritating things she says to her Grandkids' parents!
Re: GRR -- "Double Trouble" comment & a come back
wow
Our parents all talk about how such GREAT and HAPPY babies we have and we want to kill them because they don't see the TERRORS that we do
?
so I guess if someone said "double trouble" to me, I'd be like, "No sh!t!"
can you tell my kids have been super sassy today!!?
You handled that quite well! I had a woman actually say to me "Oh God, you have two? I feel sorry for you, that must be horrible!" I was so shocked that my mouth literally dropped open.
