Hi ladies. I'm not sure if I belong here, or not. Here is my brief story:
I got pg with dd (we were not trying) and had an uneventful/healthy pregnancy, and had dd on 7.24.06. Summer 2008, we decided to start trying for #2. We got a BFP in October and had a missed m/c & d&c on 12.1.08 at 11w3d. The dr advised us to wait until I got my first period and then to start trying again. We got pregnant the 2nd month of trying (March). I had bleeding/spotting issues, slow rising levels and a small gestational sac, which led to a m/c on 4.10.09 at 9w5d.
I'm 32, so I pushed for testing on the baby and then they're going to do testing on me once my levels are back down to 0 - they will check me at my follow-up appointment. We aren't having problems getting pregnant, just keeping it! Anyone else have a similiar situation? I'm curious what I should be asking my dr to test for and what I should be looking for. Or any other random advice you might have for me.
I'm at a bit of a loss right now, and am hoping you ladies can help me. Thank you!
Libby
Re: Need some help
First off your DD is beautiful and 2nd welcome. I don't really have answers as I have never had losses like that, but I hope you find them soon! I'm sorry for all you are going through.
I'm really sorry for your losses as well. I have had a total of 3 mc/s, 2 were at 5 weeks and 1 at 6-7 weeks (missed m/c). And I had 1 successful pregnancy. Throughout our TTC journey I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and most recently a blood clotting disorder (anti phospholipid syndrome). This disorder has about a 60% rate of m/c. The treatment is Lovenox injections for part of the pregnancy. At the time of my last m/c they did pathology on the baby and it was of normal chromosomes so that's why they felt the blood clotting testing was warranted. My doc talked about doing genetic testing as well, but didn't feel it was needed. So anyway, I'm an advocate for testing at this point because you certainly don't want to go thru that again. I love being in the hands of my RE again cuz he's much more proactive than my regular ob/gyn. Good luck to you, keep us posted!
I forgot to mention I'm on progesterone supps as well, I start taking them a couple days after I ovulate. Will take them thru first tri with pregnancy.
