My DD doesn't wake herself up... but she definately drools all over herself. My issue is that she's starting to get little bumps on her face (especially around her binky) from drooling on herself. Poor baby!
Could your LO be drooling so much b/c she is teething? Maybe she's in pain and that is what is waking her up??
If she's just drooling for no real reason I don't know what you could do? Sorry...
DS is the same way (he's been a drool monster since he was 2 months old). He moves around to get out of the wet spots. By moves, I mean flips and flops his head and twists his body around in his crib. Luckily he stays asleep most of the time, but there are few times where he's woken himself up. The only thing we do is gently move him away from the spot and give him his pacifier. He usually goes right back to sleep.
I'd like to NOT go in and move him, but until he's able to crawl and move on his own, I feel like there's nothing else I can do. If I were in a pile of drool and couldn't move on my own to get out of it, I'd be very uncomfortable and would appreciate someone helping me out.
