My friends induction failed

She went in yesterday at 5 pm and they inserted cervidil. ?This morning at 4 they started the pitocin. ?She had really painful contractions all day but zero?dilation. ?Nothing, nada. ?So they sent her home. ?She is going out of her mind.

What happened after the induction failed? ?Did you end up having to a have a C section or did you start?dilating?on your own??
I went in on Aug 19 to be induced. I woke up with contractions that morning, but since I knew I was going in I just waited. I got to the hospital with them being 3-5 min apart. They hooked me up and I was 3cm dilated. The contractions slowed so they gave me the pitocen. My body had the reverse reaction to Pitocen. My contractions completely stopped. My OB decided to break my water. 2 drs and 1 nurse later my water would not break and no contractions, I was sent home.
Aug 23 (around 1 am) my water broke after sex that night. I ended up with an emergency c-section because Allie's heart was stopping with contractions. I was given Pitocen that day too and it stopped the contractions I was already having.
i can also relate, dd was a failed induction, i had 12 hours of cervadyl and 12 hours of pitocin and had painful contrax the whole time but only got to 2cm. gl to your friend. getting sent home was the absolute worst thing (at the time, when you expect to come home with a baby)
