They've been trying to sell their house for 3 months- they started trying to sell it when the man lost his job. They listed it for $75K more than we bought our house for. It's about the same age, maybe a bit better condition, but way smaller lot, and less than 1/2 the sq footage (2br, 1 bath- ours is 4br, 1 recroom, 2.5 bath). They have not budged on the asking price even though a comparable house in the same neighbourhood is going for $100K+ less.
So- apparently, they decided to paint the exterior today. I talked to the woman, and they're still asking the same, but figures the "facelift" will help it sell. The thing is- they've already started putting the shutters/mailbox back on and it clearly needs another coat or two of paint...
I don't get it. Sorry- there's no real point to this... other than my neighbour has no idea how to sell a house.
