First appointment is usually a consult. He will go over your medical history and your TTC history. Ask about any issues you have noticed with your cycle ( length, if you are O'ing )
He will more than likely order CD3 tests for you and a SA for your DH. Maybe even an HSG if you haven't had one in the last year.
That's about it. Your next appointment will be to go over your results and come up with a treatment plan.
I'm on cycle 10, which I know isn't the normal 1 year requirement, but my primary dr diagnosed me with luteal phase defect hence the referral. I had 1 early m/c in that 10 months too, so it is unlikely that it is a DH issue.
There is many a story of an easy conception first time round ( or subsequent times ) and then MF issues being diagnosed. That's why they do the SA regardless. So many different things can affect the quality and quantity of sperm. Unlikely, probably, but they have to rule it out before pumping you full of goodness knows what drugs.
Re: What to expect at first SIF appt?
How long have you been TTC?

Did you have any issues conceiving your DC?
I am sorry for your loss.
No, we conceived DD on the first month trying, with bad timing too, only had sex the day after I O'd (I was charting and it was very clear).
Thanks. I keep thinking about 'how pg I should be' if I hadn't had the m/c. So daunting.
You can't do that. It will drive you bonkers. Hang in there.
