So yesterday I was off work and DD and I went on a playdate. I really do like the SAHMs we were with but all day they overanalyzed every.little.thing their kids did. It reminded me that I was like that too when I was home. Not that every SAHM is completely neurotic but I would be and I think it's good I have other things to keep me from overanalyzing every second of DD's childhood, ya know?
Re: Another positive aspect of being a WM
Yes!
For example, my friend was saying she's "disappointed" by her son's lack of interest in painting and that's something she needs to "work on" with him. He's 22 months old. Another mom was worried about her daughter's musical aptitude because she can't afford music class this summer (her kid's been in music class for a year). Throw in a CD and dance around your house, for God's sake! Just have some fun and quit trying to turn your kid into the next Einstein. Childhood should be fun! These kids have the rest of their loves to be overscheduled.
you should have told her to get a job.
Maybe if she worked...she could afford the music class that she is so worried about!
