We came home from the hospital yesterday, and he is doing really well.
We had a scare on Tuesday when he didn't pee in 30 hours, neonatologist was consulted, US of kidneys and bladder was done. The doctor ordered an IV fluid bolus to try and flush his kidneys through since the US showed no abnormalities. The great part was when the nurse was starting his IV it literally scared the piss out of him! I've never been so excited to see pee in my whole life!
BF is hard, and pretty painful still. We are supplementing with formula after each BF session because the doctor thinks maybe dehydration was the cause of the pee issues. DH is out now picking up my pump so we can work on that too. Fun, fun!
Hope all is well with everyone - it's so hard to find time to do my usual things - this is the first time my laptop went a whole day without being turned on!
GL to everyone!
Oh, and PS - listen to 0-6, they know their sh*t. I thought people exaggerated when they said how tired they are with a newborn...it's no joke! Enjoy your crappy PG sleep while you can!!
Re: Update on Ben & I
I'm so relieved he is doing well!
?
I will enjoy my crappy sleep while I can! Hopefully I will be over there soon! ?
Thanks for the update! I am SOOO glad he finally peed. (strange to say that I know)
Good luck with sleep! My sister told me it was rough and I believe her.
So happy to hear that Ben left the hospital! Thanks for the update!
And GL with BF and staying rested! (I'll try to stop whining about being tired now...)
Aww... glad everything's good with you two.
Thanks for the advice!

Amen to the sleeping! I know it's going to be rough, I keep trying to scare dh about how much we won't be sleeping, just to try and prepare him a little..
Awesome - thanks for the tips!
DO NOT Do this if you are still trying to establish BF you will be sore and it will hurt, this is normal but if you supplement before your supply is determined you will risk screwing it up. I spent the first 2 weeks literally with my DD attached to my boob. We were not only dealing with latch issues but I was trying to establish my supply. I EP now because we could never get her to latch right but Do not supplement. If he is gaining weight and wetting at least 6 diapers a day and having 1 to 2 bowel movements a day he is getting enough.
