FF babies and constipation

What are good brands that help deal with baby constipation? My nephew is just starting on formula and has been constipated to the point where they have been giving him karo syrup or sticking a thermometer up this butt to get him to poop.

They were using Enfamil regular (I think) and now switched to Similac. Any variations of these two brands that help with constipation?

Mom to an almost 4 y/o and an almost 2 y/o. In process of growing our family through adoption.

    If he just switched to something new, its going to take a couple weeks for his system to get used to it. Tell them to keep up with the rectal stim and karo until things even out. More formula switching will only make it worse.

    The only thing that helps DD with constipation is some prune juice. Sometimes i mix it with water. other times i add some into her milk.

    Enfamil Gentlease worked for us.  DD was on it for about 4 months then we slowly took her off of it a month after that.
