I'm about to cry...

in Babies: 9 - 12 Months
I'm throwing a surprise B-day party for my DH tonight and I just got a call from his parents and brother and they're not coming. ?NO ONE FROM his side will be there.

I'm so bummed I'm about to cry... it's going to be like MY whole family a single close friend of his and none of his family. ?His other best friend is in Iraq and the other is a deadbeat who won't get a ride there.

I'm so upset.?

    The show must go on!  Don't worry about it.  The most imp. person will be there:  you!  Party up!  You won't miss them, they'll be the ones missing out!  I've had a lot of situations like this, my 30th bday, my wedding, DD's 1st birthday, DH's birthday party, just keep it movin'!   Everyone always says how great it was and that the people who weren't there are the ones that should be sad!

    They can't leave for a couple hours?  They must have an awesome contractor to be staying so late.  They will just put a tarp over it.

    your dh is still going to have a blast - and you are the sweetest for throwing him a surprise story. he will love that. maybe they'll get the roof thing straightened out. if not, then they're the bad guys. not you. have fun tonight!

    I would say that at least one of his parents could come.  That would make me mad but try to bite your tounge and have fun anyway.  I am sure your DH will have a blast.

    I'm sorry you're going thru this.  We've been through similar situations with DH's family too.  The show will go on and everyone will have a good time and his family will be kicking themselves for missing it!

    I just called his dad, his mom was the one who told me they weren't coming... I told him I was sorry about the roof problems but if they got it fixed in time or if one of them could slip away for just an hour or two my DH would really appreciate it. ?I told him no one from his side would be there.... his dad was like "oohhh really? ?maybe I could come."

    So yeah, I played the guilt card but I know it's going to hurt my DH if they don't show up. ?Maybe they'll come... hopefully.

    And if not, the show will go on! ?And I'll be sure to email them photos so they feel like crap, LOL.

    I am sorry. And I feel ya... my sisters bridal shower is Sunday, we invites 48 people, 26 are coming. WTF?

    Are you kidding me?  Their roof fell in and you are cutting them NO slack?

    Come on.  Our basement was flooding and we missed Christmas one year... NO WAY was I going to leave DH there to deal with that alone... come on.
