I am normally on this board because of a shortened cervix, which has stayed constant since 22 weeks, thank goodness, but now I may have a new problem.
If you failed the 1 hour but went on to pass the 3 hour - do you remember what your 1 hour numbers were? I failed with a 175 and asked my doctor if I had a chance at passing the 3 hour and she said my number was too high and she wasn't optimistic. I am looking for a little hope!
Re: GD Question
There are some women who fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour. If it's not the case with you don't worry the diet is manageable. I was diagonosed with GD after my 1 hour only, I don't remember the number but I do remember it was above 150.
I also have the risk of preterm labor due to my first pregnancy, I had a preemie due to PROM. They are checking my cervix and so far so good. I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks girls. I will do whatever it takes to manage the diet if I am diagnosed. It's just hard, I am already on modified rest for my cervix and they have been watching my blood pressure...and now I might have GD...It's all so scary. Sometimes I feel like he'd be safer outside of me rather than in.
Oh well, I take the test in the morning. Last time I took the test the day after Easter...I ate A LOT that day....I am clinging to hope that it screwed up my numbers. If not, I guess I am giving up my breads and pastas!
I failed the 1 hour w/ a score of 163, then failed 2 out of 4 of the tests for the 3 hour. I know it's scary, but GD really isn't that bad. It's more annoying than anything else. IF you have it, you will get into the swing of things very quickly and you'll realize that it's not the end of the world.
Best of luck tomorrow!
I failed my 1 hour with a 173 and then went on to fail the 3 hour also.
Hopefully you will pass but if not, it really isn't that bad! And the girls on this board are really helpfull!
