She was about 2 1/2 months. I didn't do anything different, she just fell asleep one night and skipped her middle of the night feeding. Next thing I knew, it was 7am and I was still in bed.
We really struggled with this until we moved Jack to his crib. Once he was in his own bed, he started to sleep 3-4 hour stretches, but we still didn't consider that STTN. We started swaddling him again, and now he'll sleep from like 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

My LO was more gradual. ?We started an 8:30 bedtime around 5 weeks. ?After that, he gradually pushed out the intervals between his nighttime feedings. ?At 6 weeks he slept 8:30pm-4am. ?Over the course of the next week or so the interval got longer and longer. ?Now he sleeps until 6:30 or 7am.
FWIW, I think starting a bedtime and bedtime routine is really helpful for both you and LO. ??
We had to do CIO, but we didn't start it until 4.5 months. I knew she was ready because she was crying one night and my husband went in there to get her back to sleep and she kept crying until I came in. As soon as I left the room she started back. I figured then that if she was crying for specific comfort then she could CIO a little bit. It worked like a charm and she's sleeping MUCH better! She was definitely ready to soothe herself.
still not there yet some babies (the lucky parents) do it on their own. (they might tell you about everything they did right to get their kids to STTN at 6 weeks- but IMO, if it is that early-it is just plain lucky). At a certain point, you can teach them to go to sleep on their own (helps them self soothe at night).
Let me know if you find the magic answer. For some it is swaddling, others a nighttime a routine, for others-just takes time, for others, sleep training and CIO....
He still wakes up for one feeding a night but sleeps from 7/8 - 7. ?babies typically don't drop the middle of the night feeding until closer to 5 months. ?he has truly STTN a handful of times.
but he started sleeping longer stretches gradually.?
DS has sttn--meaning hes done 8 hrs + in a stetch but thats not STTN for me. since he sleeps at 7 and wakes at 4-5 and then goes back to sleep. but ill take that anyday compared to waking every 3-4 hrs. it started around 3 mos

My DD just dropped one MOTN feeding, so she's not technically STTN, but she sleeps from 9/10pm - 3am then 3:15am - 7am. We started a nighttime routine- bath, pj's, tv and lights off, and I bf her laying in bed. She's usually asleep in 15 mins now.
This all started about a week ago after doing the routine for a week.
At 3 months DD started to sleep from 9:30 at night until 5:30 in the morning, no wakings, which are the same hours I sleep, so it works for me.
We keep a consistent bedtime routine, don't put her to sleep to early, and she gradually set herself on a schedule were she eats a great deal in the morning, no so much during the day, an then a good amount from 5-9 in the evening.

My DD has been getting up just once to eat at night since about 5 weeks old and in the past two weeks she just started sleeping until 7:30am instead of getting up at 4am. We didn't do anything, she just did it on her own.
When DD was a month old I started a bedtime rutine. I get her ready for bed around 10. Eat,bath, eat and then I would but her to bed and put on the "baby crack machine" (she LOVES it!). She would fall asleep around 11. Then about 7 weeks she started to STTN on her own. It was WONDERFUL! and for the past week she has been sleeping in her crib in her own room! I am so proud! Hope all goes well for you!
