Just left L&D b/c I started experiencing this tender, very sore spot on my ute near my navel. Since it was found that I had fibroid tissue at 20 wks, they suspect it may be a fibroid that has grown or that the baby has kicked continuously in that one spot (which IMO I would have thought it'd be a gradual thing I would have felt).
Nonetheless, when I'm more upright I feel it and especially when the baby rolls over that spot OR if I palpate the area it's more sore. Yet, it's sore otherwise!
Experienced anything like this? What was your diagnosis?
Re: Sore spot on uterus? Due to baby kicking, fibroids or what?
Hmmm I had this and it was very painful. It felt very sore and hurt right above my belly button. Never told the doc though. It could be from my baby's head though since he's breech, but I don't know why it was all sore.
Thanks for sharing, sorry I don't have anything further to help you though.
I have a big (10cm) pendulated fibroid at the fundus, and it doesn't cause pain. Sometimes it seems a bit more tender than the rest of my uterus, but it certainly doesn't hurt.
I'd follow-up with your OB. It could be a fibroid - but they're usually painless. I agree with you - I would think it's very unlikely that the baby has been kicking one spot that's suddenly sore. Like you said, if that were the case, you probably would have felt the soreness increase gradually.
Good luck... I hope you get some answers!
