Prefer ideas for independant playtime actually. Seems like lately all she wants to do is be entertained and held. Shes isnt sitting yet, but over the laying down toys. So we are at loss. I sit down with her and dangle toys and play with her, tummy time, jumperoo- all the standard stuff- but desperately seeking independant playtime activities.
DD's FAVORITE toy of all time was the activity mat. I used to put her in it and get on the computer or do dishes etc. for like 15-20 min and would be good to go. Now as soon as we put her under the mat she starts crying bloody mary. She is so over it!
Re: Activities for 5-6 month old?
The only things I could think of were the Jumperoo or I'd put her on a big blanket with a bunch of toys around.
Same. DS loves his freedom now that he rolls around. He's even trying to creep if a toy is out of reach. Does she like to play on her tummy? I try to switch out the toys he plays with every once in a while for variety. I'm not sure if he notices yet, but he seems happy. DS also loves reading books and sitting on my lap, facing me, to sing songs, pat-a-cake, etc. "Itsy Bitsy Spider" is his fav.
TV??
J/K!!!
It's a tough age for independent play, for us. DD will keep herself occupied on a blanket with toys for a little while, but she loves me playing with her. She's not much for the jumparoo. We go for walks, and read books. I just keep reminding myself that soon she will be bored of me and that makes me sad.
